Cooking time:30 min
Serves:2(around 400 ml)
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Moong dal/Pasiparupu .
- 2 cups water.
- 3/4 cup jaggery.
- 1 tbp raw rice.
- 1 tsp ghee.
- 2 tbsp grated coconut.
- 2 tbsp cashew and dry grapes.
- 1 cardamom crushed.
- Dry roast moong dal and rice until the raw smell of the dal goes off.
- Pressure cook them for 2-3 whistles with 2 cups of water until mushy.
- Remove impurities from jaggery by adding little water and filtering it .
- Add it to the cooked dal mixture.
- Add ghee to another saute pan and roast cashew and dry grapes .
- Add it to the payasam and add grated coconut as well and cook it for 5 min or until all of them blends together.
- Finally add cardamom powder.
- Pasiparupu payasam is ready to serve.
- Serve it to you dearies and they will hug you for sure.
Note:
- You can adjust water consistency and jaggery level according to your taste and jaggery nature .
- Try to remove the impurities from jaggery before adding it to cooked dal(ususally there will be small sand particles present in jaggery ,this comes from preparation itself not packaging.So whatever quality jaggery you buy whether crushed or whole one try to filter it before adding them).
