Green tomato chutney a tangy and spicy Indian style chutney prepared with raw tomato.Thuvayal makes the breakfast delicious any day/everyday and pairs with idli, dosa on a south Indian household. You can even add to rice or spread it on bread or chapathi...
Tomato chutney is usually prepared with red tomato but why should that be the case always? Try something different. How i got the idea of making something like this ? In summer i bought 3 tomato plants and was waiting for them to get ripen(Later i searched and got to know they need right temperature to get ripe). So was thinking of making something with the ones i have at hand. Then a good friend of mine visited shared this recipe with me. That day i made it with a great hope and it never failed me.From now on there is no worry for me if i have green unripe ones in my pantry ,i can make something out of it.
I don't like to temper my chutney after grinding, like my mom do .If you want to do ,then skip the first step, only saute the ingredients and later do the tempering.I used the regular unripe tomatoes, if you have Mexican tomatillos you can use that too.
