Peanut sundal -  prepared with groundnut and bisibelabath masala powder.Sundal  is a healthy snack prepared with legumes. Mostly with pulses ,sometimes with lentils.Usually the pulses are soaked overnight, pressure cooked and then tempered ,if preferred some masala is added to form a protein rich and simple snack.

Peanuts are liked by all ,irrespective of age.It is not only a simple nut ,it is good for heart and prevents the risk of heart diseases. Also can be consumed by all people either rich and poor.I usually buy unshelled variety and pressure cook it with required salt and we simply eat it on evenings.Instead of having a fried item as a snack, a cutlet ,trail mix, nuts or sundal can be healthy choice for kids and adults.

Navarathri is around the corner,so thought of preparing some different variety of sundal. That day i got some leftover bisibelabath masala powder and i added it.Unbelievably it turned out super delicious. My kid who never eats verkadalai after her first attempt ,had 2-3 spoons. So this recipe is not only different and delicious it is really simple. Even you can save the little bit of masala powder that goes to garbage.

Some ways/ideas of including peanuts in your diet:
  •    Cooked groundnut can make a fantastic snack.
  •     Include in your salad along with lettuce or other greens.
  •     Make variety rice with your favorite masala.
  •     If you want to store for a longer time, make powder and add to plain rice whenever you are lazy.
  •     Make masala kadalai in microwave, its better than deep fried.
  •     If you love sandwiches then make peanutbutter.
