Quick and Easy Low calorie Mushroom Biriyani

As the title says this is a quick and easy mushroom biryani recipe. It took me only 15 min to make this biriyani. No fancy ingredients are needed you can make this just with pantry ingredients. I just added 1 tsp of ghee for extra flavor.
Did i say i took this to my daughters school potluck party and everybody liked it .So next time for your party do try this .

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz mushroom.
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste.
  • 3/4 tsp chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp Corinader powder.
  • 3 cups basmati rice.
  • 1 tbsp ghee.
  • A pinch of turmeric.

To Temper:


  • 1 cardomom
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 bay leaves

To Grind:


  • 1/2 bunch mint leaves
  • 1/4 bunch coriander/cilantro leaves
  • 3 green chilies.
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 small tomato


Method:


  • Grind the ingredients to grind and set it aside.
  • Wash and soak the rice for 15 min.
  • Prepare the ginger garlic paste .
  • Wash and clean the mushrooms and slice them.
  • Saute them in separate pan for 5 min until they release their juices.
  • Heat a pressure cooker and add ghee to it.
  • Add the items to temper.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute it till the raw smell dissipates.
  • Add the ground paste and saute it for 3-4 min until the raw smell dissipates .
  • Add tumeric,chili,coriander powder and saute until the raw smell dissipates.
  • Add  the rice and saute it for a min.
  • Add the sauteed mushrooms to rice.
  • Add required water around 3 cups and required salt (1 1/4 tbsp).
  • Check for salt and heat before covering .
  • Cook for a whistle and serve it hot with raita.

Yummy mushroom biriyani is ready to serve





Note:
  • If you feel the biriyani cooked for more time you can release some pressure and cool it .
  • Saute the mushrooms beforeadding it to biriyani .
