- Dry roast flax seed until it pops.Transfer it to another container to cool.Dry roast curry leaves and then add red chili while the curry leaves is in half way roasting.Fry them until crispy.Roast cumin seeds until it pops up and add to the mix.
- Roast dry coconut separate and cool it.If adding garlic then dry roast it too.Cool and grind along with tamarind and salt to coarse powder.
- Store in refrigerator and add to everything you like.

- 1/4 cup flax seed/alsi/alli virai.
- 2 red chili/kancha milagai.
- 1 little piece of tamarind/puli.
- 1 clove garlic/poondu.
- 1 tbsp dry coconut/koparai.
- 5-10 curry leaves/kariveppilai.
- 1/4 tsp jeera/jeeragam.
- required salt
- Dry roast flax seed until it pops.Transfer it to another container to cool.
- Dry roast curry leaves and then add red chili while curry leaves is in half way roasting.Fry both until crispy.
- Roast dry coconut and cool it.
- Roast cumin seeds and add to the already roasted mix.
- If adding garlic dry roast for sometime.
- Cool and grind all of them along with tamarind and salt to coarse powder.
- Your delicious Flax seed podi is ready.Store in refrigerator and add it to everything like stuffing,Have it with idli,dosa or add little podi with yogurt then have with chapathi .
- Fresh flax seed can be used long where as the ground ones can go rancid(loose nutritional value) after few days at room temperature.
- So store in an airtight container and store in refrigerator.It can be free flowing even stored at freezer(haven't done that).
- Make sure to drink plenty of water when you take these.
- If you want to take full benefit, then freshly ground and include in yogurt,smoothies,rice,sides.
