Home made pizza sauce with fresh tomatoes

I wanted to make pizza at home for my little one.Like my pizza crust I decided to make pizza sauce from scratch. I used fresh tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes. One recipe caught my attention here. This is a very easy recipe and it is good for 2 medium pizza. So making a pizza sauce sauce from fresh tomatoes is not a big task any more .

Preparation time:5 min
Cooking time: 40 min
Yields: 1 cup (good for 2 medium pizza)

Ingredients:
  • 4 medium size plum tomatoes.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano.
  • 3 red chillis crushed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic pod.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar

Method:
  • Heat olive oil to sauce pan on medium heat
  • Add minced garlic and saute it for a min.
  • Add oregano and saute it for a minute.
  • Add fresh chopped tomatoes and saute it for a few minutes.

  • Add sugar, pepper, red chili flakes and salt.
  • Once it comes to a boil let it simmer uncovered for 30-40 min.

  • Cool it and grind it in mixer.
  • Add it to a pizza of your choice and enjoy.

Note:

  • If you use fresh oregano you have to add it to the end of sauce preparation process.
  • You can use canned tomatoes too in that case use 1 can .
  • You can save this for later also is you have extra sauce.
