Radish Chutney(No Onion,No Garlic)

      Radish Chutney is an easy chutney made with radish as the main ingredient .If you don't add onion and garlic to your food then this Chutney recipe is for you .
 This chutney has little smell of radish even though we saute it .If you don't like the smell you can add onion and tomato to the chutney like my other radish chutney.This Chutney goes very well with dosa,idly,Roti's as well.

Mullangi thogayal


Ingredients :
  • 170 grams radish /mullangi(around 8-10 small radish)
  • 2 red chilies/milagai
  • 2 tbsp coconut/thengai
  • 1 tbsp urad Dal/uluntham paruppu
  • 1 tbsp Channa Dal/kadala parupu
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt as required
For tempering:
  •  1 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds/Kadugu
  • 1/4 tsp urad Dal/Ulutham parrupu
  • few curry leaves/Karuvepilai.
Method:
  • This is how the red radish look like(for those who don't know)

Red radish

  • Clean the radish and cut them in to little thin slices.

  • Heat the tava and add oil to it .
  • Add urad Dal,Channa Dal and wait until it changes colour .
Temper it with urad dal,channa dal

  • Add red chilies to the tava as well.
Add red chili to it
  • Add the cleaned cut radish to the tava and saute it.

  • When the radish change color switch off the flame .
saute it until raw smell goes

  • Switch off the flame and add grated coconut to it .
  • When it cools down grind it to smooth paste.
  • Heat the tava, add  oil to it .
  • Add the tempering to the oil .When the mustard seeds splutter and urad Dal changes colour add it to ground chutney .
TEmper it

  • Enjoy it with dosa of your choice.
