Egg Omelet Recipe|How To Make Egg Omelet|South Indian Style

Egg omelet -Easy to make side dish for rice,for lazy afternoons or when there is no veggies.
    Everybody loves egg's in one or other form.I just love them in gravy or curries(only boiled ones) my better half like omelet's.In many countries egg omelet is served for breakfast along with bread and juice.In India its served mostly during lunch.How ever eating egg based dishes at night is not suggested you can eat them early before dusk so that it gets digested before you sleep.

    To make South Indian egg omelet is very easy .Mix in finely chopped onions ,green chilies with turmeric(anti-oxidant) and spice powders  to egg and mix some salt.Beat it well and cook it in tava or dosa pan with some oil.
 Apart from above there are n different ways of making an omelet like adding masala powders like garam masala,chili -coriander powder, only with spice powders like pepper-jeera, with veggies like bell pepper,tomato.

Tip:You can also make a full breakfast's with veggie omelets and some juice.

Variations you can do with this recipe:
  1. Skip pepper-jeera powder (but i suggest adding it.It improves digestions)
  2. You can add sauted onions instead of fresh chopped onions.

 Cuisine: Indian Category:Lunch|Breakfast Yields:1 omelet Prep time:2 minutes Cook time:4 minutes Total time:6 minutes

  • 1 egg
  • pinch of turmeric
  • salt required.
  • 1/4 tsp pepper -jeera powder.
  • 1 small onion.
  • 1 green chili.
  • 1 tsp oil.
  • few coriander leaves.
How to make Egg omelet:
  • Crack the eggs in a clean bowl.

  • Add salt,turmeric,pepper-jeera powder,onions,chili,coriander leaves.

  • Mix everything until it all comes together.

  • Heat a tava,add oil to it .
  • When its hot add the beaten egg mixture.

  • Add more oil if required.
  • When you can hold the bottom side flip it.
  • Leave it for 20-30 secs.
  • Egg omelet is ready to be served with rice.
  • Serve it hot with rasam ,sambar or kulambu rice.
