10MinuteMicrowavePohachivda/AvalMixture

             Easy healthy snack is every body's favourite.This snack comes in the same category with less time to make and gives the full satisfaction of making a snack at home without losing it healthiness .If you have a microwave then you can make this mixture in no time .You can add your favourites like boondi,Sev ,peanuts to make it your favourite.Along with a cup of tea it going to be a bliss in the evening.
One fine Sunday evening i don't have any snack and my kid was asking for something .I have some pohas unused because i got a thin poha instead of thick to do my regular poha upma .I made this and served her and she liked it a lot.Don't spend your time in front of stove too much .Just make this in 10 minutes and make everyone  home happy including you .

I just can't update recipes because i am on vacation .Will be back to normal after some weeks.

Cooking time:8-10 minutes

Ingredients:

  •  1 cup Thin poha/aval/pressed rice.
  • 2 tbsp roasted gram/pottukadalai
  • salt as required
  • 1/4 tsp sugar

To temper:
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder.
  • 2 tbsp peanuts/kadalai.

Method:
  • Grease a microwave safe plate (grease with edible oil)
  • Add Poha to it and microwave it for 1 minute .Take it out then microwave again for one more minute .
  • In the same plate add roasted gram and microwave for 3 minutes(do it like 3 times, 1 minute each time)

  • In a tava add oil .
  • Add mustard seeds and wait for it to splutter .
  • Add peanuts and roast it until it becomes brown (roast for about a minute)
  • Add  curry leaves and add turmeric and chili powder .
  • Saute it for a second or two.
TEmper the poha chivda

  • Add the roasted poha and roasted gram and mix it well .
  • Add salt and sugar and toss it well .

Mix microwaved poha to tempered items

your quick poha chivda/aval mixture is ready to eat .

Note:
  • You can increase the oil amount .If you don't want the mixture to be greasy the oil level mentioned here is good .
  • Add your favourites like Kara boondi,sweet boondi,thin sev,Kara sev to make it even yummier .
  • You can roast the peanuts dry before adding it to oil(so you don't need to saute it in oil)
  • If you have roasted peanuts then add them while serving instead of adding it to oil
  • For every minute take the roasted gram and poha so that it don't get burnt.
  • Adding of turmeric gives a nice colour to the mixture so please add it .
